One of the things that irritates me is people who name call as a way of making an argument. I'm a pro-Europe Liberal Democrat. I don't like the way David Cameron vetoed ways to save the Euro last Friday. I can see his argument about protecting the banking sector, but I'm doubtful he handled it in the beat way possible.

That said, there are a number of Liberal Democrats who agree with me, including it seems, some Lib Dem MEPs, who called Cameron's bargaining position "perfectly acceptable." These MEPs aren't particularly bonkers either, coming from the sensible wing of the party.

Anyhow I weighed in to a debate on the matter on a Lib Dem forum, only to get told I was a "Eurosceptic, Daily Telegraph reading, 5 year old" (though presumably a particularly precocious 5yo, given they've got me reading the Telegraph) for making the contrary case.

There's nothing like calling someone else names to demonstrate you're confident of your argument I always think.
