I went to see "American Gangster" today.

I went to see the Denzel Washington film "American Gangster" today. It's a sort of "Untouchable meets an African-American Mafia" film that sees Russell Crowe act as a straight New Jersey cop who investigates drug dealing and is lead, by accident, to Washinton when he assumed it was the Mafia who was responsible for the drugs trade in his area (and neighboring New York).

It's set in the 1960s and early 1970s (so we get to see some cracking clothes, food and cars), and isn't a bad film but it's over 2.5hrs long and so drags a little in places. Part of me suspects that if it'd been cut by 10 or 15 minutes, it'd've been a really good film.
