I finished "Dead and Gone."

Don't you just feel stupid sometimes? I assumed that this was the second book in the series (having just read the first) based on the cover (why put the heroine on the cover of the 9th book otherwise?). I was wrong.

In this book the vampires have announced that they "walk amongst us" for a while. Seeing their gradual success and acceptance, werewolves have decided to out themselves in the hope of similar acceptance. The rest of the book follows what happens after their announcement. Is a local death the result of retaliation or something worse (a war between rival non-humans for example) going on?

The book isn't bad, but I don't think the series (at least in its' book form) is for me. It reads too much like chick-lit if I'm honest.
