I went to see "The Devil Inside."

I went to see "The Devil Inside" today. Put simply, a normal woman has a breakdown (or becomes possessed) and kills the 3 people sent to exorcise her.

20yrs later her daughter flies to Rome to meet her Mum, try and understand how exorcisms work, and what went down that night. After she observes an exorcisms, things start getting weird for her, the priests involved, and the cameraman.

It wasn't bad, it's just I don't think the film was as clever as the writer and directors thought it'd be.

I went to see "Sherlock Holmes II"

I went to see "Sherlock Holmes II" today. It stars Robert Downey Jr. and Sherlock, Jude Law as a soon to be married Dr. Watson, and Stephen Fry as Mycroft. Rachel McAdams, who has a big part in the first film (and was much better than the female lead in this one), has a small part in this film.

In the film, Professor Moriarty is up to his usual nefarious "bad works" (in this case an attempt to start a small war to increase sales in for the arms firm he's bought into) and only Holmes and Watson can stop him.

It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't very exciting, and gave me the sense I'd seen it all before. I had the feeling that it was pretty much exactly the same as the first film (you could probably swap a number scene from one and put it in the other, without doing much harm to the plot), which made me feel "what's the point of going to see it?"
