Should Churches Chaarge Admitance?

Since we got back, I've been showing my youngest round London. This means we've been to the zoo a couple of times (for the life of me I don't know why she's got such a thing about animals), and a variety of other places for good measure.

We went to St. Paul's Cathedral on Saturday (followed by a boat ride up the Thames). The charged me $19 for me to get in and another $11 for my 5 year old (note to self she's tall for a 5year old remember to bring proof she's under 6 in future).

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit naff of a house of God to charge people to get in?
