I went to see "Brooklyn's Finest." It stars Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes, amongst others. The first 3 play cops (one of whom is undercover), while Snipes plays a drug dealer that is under investigation.

I don't know if you've seen Crash. It won a few Academy Awards a few years ago. This film follows in much the same vein. There's no upside to this film. All the characters end up lessened by the experiences they have in the film and that depressed me.

Gere plays a cop on the verge of retirement. The rookie he's training dies during the film. Hawke is broke with kids on the way. Cheadle's marriage is falling apart and Snipes (the drug dealer) is no bed of roses either.

In short it's all rather depressing. It's depressing at the star. It's depressing in the middle. It's depressing at the end. If you can handle that watch the film. If you can't, don't.
